We’re excited you’re considering joining our workforce! Niagara-on-the-Lake, is one of Canada’s most historic and picturesque towns! Located at the tip of the Niagara Peninsula and nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario, Niagara-on-the-Lake includes the five communities of Old Town, Virgil, St. Davids, Queenston and Glendale.

Niagara-on-the-Lake is located within the Regional Municipality of Niagara that represents twelve cities, towns and townships: Fort Erie, Grimsby, Lincoln, Niagara-on the-Lake, Niagara Falls, Pelham, Port Colborne, St. Catharines, Thorold, Wainfleet, Welland and West Lincoln.

Closest cities to Niagara-on-the-Lake

ST. CATHARINES

Approximately 20 minutes from Niagara-on-the-Lake, on the other side of the St Lawrence Seaway is the City of St Catharines.  This city has a variety of attractions for you to explore including a downtown that features one of the oldest farmer’s markets in Ontario, more than 120 shops and boutiques alongside 50 cafes, restaurants and bars. Rich in cultural heritage, the community of Port Dalhousie is located on a small peninsula in St Catharines that separates Martindale Pond from Lake Ontario.

There are 4 bridges that control the St Lawrence Seaway Locks between Niagara-on-the-Lake and St Catharines.  You can avoid these lock bridges by taking the QEW depending on your destination.  Click here to view the up-to-date bridge status to avoid delays.  You can also download Welland Canal Bridge Status apps from Google Play and/or the Apple Store.

THOROLD

Thorold, Ontario is one of Canada’s most historic small cities and is home to the famous Twin Flight Locks. With a population of 18,000, heritage-rich Thorold located on the brow of the Niagara Escarpment, sits 350 feet above sea level. Situated in the centre of the Niagara peninsula, the city is only 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Toronto and 19 kilometers (12 miles) from Niagara Falls and the U.S. border. It is 30 minutes from the Hamilton Airport, 40 minutes from the Buffalo, New York USA International Airport.

Known as the city “Where Ships Climb the Mountain”, it is steeped in the history of the Welland Canal. Thorold is the proud recipient of the Prince of Wales Prize for Municipal Heritage, awarded by the National Trust of Canada.

NIAGARA FALLS

The City of Niagara Falls is a small vibrant city located in the heart of the Niagara Region. One can enjoy all the amenities of a large urban centre in a comfortable, livable community. Arts, culture, recreation and commerce are all in Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is 27 km northwest of Buffalo, New York, and 69 km southeast of Toronto, and a 25-minute drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake. With a population of 88,000, the area provides a vast array of year-round activities for the entire family. Beautifully maintained biking and walking trails line the world-famous Niagara gorge while numerous golf courses, ball diamonds, playing fields, swimming pools and rinks contribute to a strong sense of community.

WELLAND

The City of Welland, is one of Canada’s genuinely authentic recreational canal cities. With a population of 56,000, the city is in the centre of Niagara and located within a half-hour driving distance to Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, St. Catharines, and Port Colborne. The city’s natural beauty and bustling community, includes annual festivals, downtown restaurants, heritage buildings, waterfront music concerts, and outdoor events. With a college, museum, libraries, farmers market, and so much more.

GRIMSBY

Grimsby, Ontario, south along Lake Ontario, just beyond Hamilton, is a lovely small town where one can find small cafés, bakeries, and nice local restaurants. It’s a 40-minute drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake, and less than 75 minutes from Toronto. Grimsby Beach is known for its beautiful blue water, and colourful gingerbread cottages, known as The Painted Ladies. The Peach King Centre is a full-service recreation facility and community hub in Grimsby, with numerous sports organizations, twin arena pads, outdoor rink and splash pad.
