I love the spirit of creativity, support and collaboration that is infused in the Shaw Festival culture and in the very buildings, themselves. Being a part of an organization that serves humanity and seeks to connect us all to ourselves and to each other allows me to fully engage my whole being when I come to work. Added bonus: no one stares when I sing in the halls!
I love that we call where we work a campus. A lyceum of sorts, where everyone is constantly learning - about our plays, about our audiences and about our world. And that creates a contagious curiosity that drives us to seek out more and consistently strive to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
I am thrilled to be at Shaw working with some of the most brilliant theatre designers in the country. I love supporting the creativity in the Design Studio, and watching projects be brought to life by The Shaw's talented artisans.
One highlight of working at The Shaw is walking through the wardrobe department's work studio when I have a costume fitting. It is filled with ridiculously talented humans bringing the designers' ideas to life and then I get to wear them. Dreamy.
Since March 2001, I have worked in Box Office Sales and Retail, and for the last 23 years, I have enjoyed being a part of this creative atmosphere. By getting involved in different events, and booking tickets, I have met so many wonderful patrons that have become good friends along the way.
